Power of DC -
Mason Dixon Dragway

The Power of DC is
organized by the Electric Vehicle Association of
Washington DC and sanctioned by the National Electric Drag Association.
 Join
us for the 2009 Power of DC in Hagerstown, Maryland. This will be
our 9th annual race. Last year was one of the best events we've had yet
and we hope to do it again with the Electric and Hybrid AutoCross on
August 29 and the NEDRA Drag Race on August 30. The AutoCross will be
set up, once again, by the pros from the Washington Chapter of the
Sports Car Club of American and the hosts for the drag racing will be
the Mason Dixon Dragway. The drag race is sanctioned by the National
Electric Drag Racing Association (NEDRA).

Suckamps EV
Racing
“Suck Amps EV Racing” is the latest name for the racing team of EV
Parts Inc. It is the offshoot of Roderick’s “The Wilde Bunch” Team
Electric Racing from the early days of EV racing at Wilde Evolutions,
Inc. The term “Suck Amps” was coined in 1993 by Abby Wilde, Roderick’s
wife at the time. She was being interviewed by a film crew at the Solar
and Electric 500 at PIR (Phoenix International Raceway in Phoenix
Arizona) right after Roderick had run away with the C Stock event. They
asked her how he was able to do so well. She replied that Roderick had
won by sucking a lot of amps and “sucking amps” became a slang term
synonymous with electric racing. “Suck Amps EV Racing” continues to
push the envelope of electric vehicles in order to pave the way for
acceptance of this very old form of transportation. As Roderick says:
“We live in a fad culture. If EV’s become cool then everyone will want
one and this chunk of ground we inhabit will be a much better place.”

The National Electric Drag Racing Association (NEDRA), a chapter of the
Electric Auto Association, exists to increase public awareness of
electric vehicle (EV) performance and to encourage through competition,
advances in electric vehicle technology. NEDRA achieves this by
organizing and sanctioning safe, silent and exciting electric vehicle
